Cami-Soul :: Cami Top with Green Accent

Sunday, September 25, 2016 Simone - Your Style Architect 0 Comments

Hi everyone and happy Sunday to you!

Been seeing the trend of cami-tops over t-shirt for awhile in Fall. Not truly buying into this trend although I have seen pretty lace camis over plain t-shirts and it does look kinda sultry sexy. Especially if it's a black and white monochrome ensemble.

Anyway, I decided not to invest into this trend as it isn't quite my style, however for the fun of it - mix and match old favourites in my closet just to play with this style trend ( well at least for once!). Went with a floral layered style cami to style this look just for that change as most of these trends you will find seem to work with bold colour or lace camis.

A casual weekend look introducing the lovely Saint Laurent Classic Monogram Quilted Shoulder Bag in green. I simply love how this emerald green is so easy to mix and match with my outfits and a nice Fall colour to work with too.

Since we're trending all the latest 90s fashion style all over again, this leather choker necklace with an infinity pendant was ideal to pair with this outfit.

My lovely Daniel Wellington birthday gift and ASOS Double knot cuff bangle was the perfect accessory to complete this look - tying in with the brown leather choker necklace.

Let me know what you think about Cami-Tops? Will it be a trend you would follow?

Let's Fly To the (Mira) Moon!

Sunday, September 18, 2016 Simone - Your Style Architect 0 Comments

Hi everyone,

Hong Kong just celebrated the Mid Autumn Festival on 15 September 2016 with many outdoor celebrations of lantern appreciation and walks, and of course many hotels and restaurants offering great deals for family dinners which is part of the celebrations. Children walking with lanterns out in the villages and many families laughing and chatting whilst enjoying different flavours and variations of mooncakes - such a beautiful sight all over Hong Kong.

For my family, we had a mini celebration at home and the day after - brunch at the Mira Moon hotel - of which it's decor and design of the hotel was built around the myth and legend of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Therefore rabbits, peonies, chinese motifs and the moon is an abundant sight within the hotel's premises.

Since cami tops seem to be quite a trend these days, I opted to wear a similar top in bright yellow sans the recent t-shirt under trend, shining bright and strong like the golden moon. Paired this look with these comfy lace wedges from Vince Camuto.

Straw clutch to ground the look and matched it with my tassel Chanel earrings in light gold.

With a nice cold champagne in hand, I headed out to a small outdoor area which apparently I came to understand is the only hotel / bar in Wan Chai that holds this license for rooftop outdoor smoking. Its a cool little corner indeed.

After finishing off my surf n turf lunch and enjoying a nice dessert of tiramisu and chocolate " boom boom" which is chocolate covered custard, we headed off to the guestroom corridors for a quick tour.

I am most certainly loving these pretty wooden carvings along each corridor and don't you think those little bunny rabbits are just so divine? Heard from the General Manager that they had lovely little stuffed rabbits hiding all over the hotel especially in their dining outlet " Secret Garden" for this lovely festival but sad to say, many guests just could not help but literally " stole" them home! Good for PR I would say, bad for the hotel though cos it was all gone over and out in a spate of a night!

Hope you enjoyed this post and do share with me if you celebrated the Lantern / Mid-Autumn Festival and what did you do?

Love,
Simone xoxo

Samba into Fall :: Stripe Off Shoulder Balloon Sleeve Top + Tassel Earrings

Sunday, September 11, 2016 Simone - Your Style Architect 3 Comments

Hi everyone,

Indeed a sad day - the anniversary of 9/11. Been watching unreleased footage on TV all day and getting a little down for sure. Thoughts and prayers are with the families and victims affected by this tragedy.

For this post, here's my red, white and blue outfit to stand by the people of America and let them know we are with you on this sad day of remembrance. Pairing with this outfit is one of Fall's must-have accessory - the Tassel Earring.

Going out on a date night with my husband, this look was perfect for dinner and drinks.

Kept the rest of the outfit plain and simple so the top and tassel earrings would stand out and make a statement. Nude wedges and envelope clutch was the perfect combination to finish the look.

So in my last post, I was whinging a little about the hypocrisy of the human nature. To follow up on that comment - this last week, my eyes were opened even more to realise there is nothing I can do to change the way these people think and behave. I will not accept it, but I will also not let myself be pulled down by such primitive thinking and insecurities of others. These people lacking in confidence will never achieve much in life. Incessant whinging and moaning will get them nowhere and certainly not get them ahead in anything that they do. Hopefully they will realise it one day.

Back to the outfit, decking myself out in birthday pressies from lovely people in my life - earrings from a colleague, envelope clutch from an aunt and a pretty bracelet from a lovely couple.

Not forgetting to mention, these lovely Max Mara Wedges that was showcased in the Max Mara Preview Collection post ( check it out here & here).

Over the last week, I came across an online store - Stylewe.com which had lovely pretty bags, accessories and outfits ( some similar to designer items) at a fraction of the price. As always, my motto of " Get The Look for Less" prevails and so here are some lovely items I identified on their online store which you may be interested in.

As we enter into Fall, I am looking forward to trend trousers and pants, and these flared cut offs are so cute!

A classic pair of black culottes would be a wardrobe essential.

I don't know about you, but I do love jumpsuits and this 2 piece jumpsuit is a classic.

A lovely oriental style Bomber Jacket is perfect for those cooler days coming up.

Spotted these designer inspired bags on their site which is simply too pretty not to consider for adding that extra touch to your outfit.

Click on the pictures above to check out for more options and price list. Free shipping is also available with a minimum spend.

Have fun shopping !

Chanel Weekend :: Chanel Jumbo and Tassel Earrings

Sunday, September 04, 2016 Simone - Your Style Architect 2 Comments

It's Sunday again and with the dampening weather, a little pick me up was much needed this weekend.

I received this beautiful vintage palace Chanel tassel earrings for a pressie and figured, why not let's go crazy and deck myself out in Chanel this weekend. Tassel earrings is another hot jewelry trend besides choker necklaces this season, so I started to go crazy stocking up on a few favourite and classic styles which I will showcase slowly in time with my outfit pairings.

Had this white off shoulder top for awhile from my lovely sponsor - Shein.com. The model online wore the blouse with the split opening in the front, but being a little conservative and too conscious of my tummy, I decided to flip the top over and wore the split at the back. Somehow, I love how it opens up at the back to reveal the sexiness of a woman's lower back.

Just needed to get this next thing off my chest, so why not in my blog? A perfect place for me to connect with my readers and perhaps seek your advise on how to manage this situation.

So, this last week particularly had been a little tough. Been feeling quite disappointed in the human nature. How people easily fold under pressure and succumb to gossiping in order to deal with their insecurities. I have learnt to realise this is the way the world goes round however, I just cannot help but be disappointed in the hypocrisy of people. Sigh....

Coincidentally, Black Eye Peas, just released a remake version of their hit "Where Is The Love" this last week too - so apt to hit the point that we need more love in this world and less viciousness.

So, tomorrow will be the start of a new week and I am looking forward to a fresh start again. Putting all negativity behind me.

Back to my outfit this weekend, since I was going vintage with the chanel earrings and the jumbo bag, so paired this look with my Gianvito Rossi peep toe bootie which was first seen back in Aug 2014 but still a hot favourite for those shoe connoisseurs out there.

I hope you enjoyed this outfit post and please do share with me how you deal with issues as I had faced above. Love to hear your opinions and suggestions.
