Goodbye 2016 and Hello 2017!

As the clock is ticking down to midnight, here is my final post for 2016 - my dazzling New Year's outfit to welcome 2017!

I found this lovely Sequin Top and metallic midi skirt from ZARA's Winter sale and I just had to have it. It matched perfectly with my newly found H&M Glitter Slingbacks... what a perfect New Year's Outfit to ring in 2017! I must say 2016 has not been a very pleasant year for many ( as I ask around and even feel it so for myself).

Let's be honest - I, for one, believe more is more ( more often than not!) so for my New Year's outfit I went out crazy with as much bling as possible from statement sequin top, to statement bling necklace, to statement bling pave bracelet and statement glitter heels! It was so bright and dazzling in the sunlight... the rays bouncing off my little mirrored sequins...felt like a Dreamgirl in the movies!

Statement sleeves are the IN trend at the moment ( as you may have noticed from my recent posts) and so its no wonder this sequin top had to have a va va voom effect for me with it's bell sleeves for me to pick it out from a pile of sale items and visualise that styled final product I wish to trend for this final post of 2016.

So what is your New Year's resolution? I have so many.. if you have been following me closely this last year, you would have shared my ups and downs with me through this year. Looking back, 2016 had me realised life is too short for hypocrites in my life. I particularly discovered the hypocrisy of certain friendships over summer 2016 and made a vow to slowly alienate myself from such people who only pull me down with their jealousy, hypocrisy and negative vibes. So 2017, here I come with a big bang filled with a positive new attitude and writing off friendships I deem superficial.

On a different note, 2016 also brought me new levels of friendships with fellow international bloggers which I got to know from social media and collaborations. These few but very supportive fellow bloggers ( like a needle in a haystack) was so willing and forthcoming to spend their precious time to guide me and advise me on how to better inspire my readers and followers and for that I am deeply grateful.

A very big shout out especially to Yen from Diva In Me and Elizabeth from Stylewich. Both gorgeous ladies inside out and I hope one day I can repay their kindness and support as much as they have extended out to me.

And so as I wrap up 2016, I wish for all of you my dear readers and followers only good and positive experiences in 2017. A year filled with ONLY happy surprises, good health ( most importantly!) and a year filled with love... Put all hatred behind you... all envy and jealousy away... know that life is always better filled with love ( and bling!). I will leave you with this quote which someone had said to me once and it stuck forever in my mind :

" It always takes more out of you to hate someone than to love someone!"

Happy 2017 !!

Merry Christmas 2016 !!

Sunday, December 25, 2016 Simone - Your Style Architect 4 Comments

Merry Christmas to one and all! Trust everyone is having great time spending it with family and friends this year.

Was heading out for Christmas Eve dinner with friends and therefore did a quick outfit shot before I left the house seeing I would probably be so busy ( and drunk) to be taking shots at the party. Glitter and Velvet was the call of the day with a glittered shawl ( hanging on the chair behind) to add to the outfit should it get colder as the night goes on.

I first set my sights on this slightly different take on a festive outfit when I saw fellow blogger - Elizabeth Lee from Stylewich.com style this velvet suit from Stylewe.com so invitingly on her blog a few weeks back! Said to myself - I need to get my hands on that velvet suit ( the first I would have owned in all honesty!).

The wine red/ burgundy color palette was such an elegant colour to style for such an occasion and the inspiration to pair it with gold was this beautiful pair of glitter slingbacks from H&M which I just had to have!! With block heels it was a comfortable pair to stand all evening in.

Passe or not, I decided to style the top with a black bra underneath for statement purposes. Love the high neck collar and cuffed sleeves of this lovely glitter top from Stradivarius.

To be honest, I could not find this suit initially on Stylewe.com in my right size and literally gave up looking for a similar velvet suit for Christmas. But my undying attempts to contact their store finally got me the suit and I must say - fitting true to size - I LOVE IT!! Fits perfectly and hugs me at the right places. 70s or not, it was indeed an unusual take on a typical holiday, black or lace dress choice.

Don't forget to check out Stylewe.com for the best collections to style for this festive season. If you are into dresses for such festive periods, there are so many great choices to find on this online store. Do check out Stylewe Dresses & Tunics for more options for your New Year and Lunar New Year outfits ( not forgetting Valentine's that is round the corner too!)

Here are some of my favourite choices for the coming occasions :

Half Sleeve Plain V Neck Tunic

Bandage High Low Pluning Neck Statement Tunic

Gray Beaded Plain Sleeve Crew Neck Tunic

Tiered Ruflles :: Ruffle Tiered Sleeves + Fringe Loafers

Saturday, December 24, 2016 Simone - Your Style Architect 1 Comments

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!

As the clock ticks slowly for countdown to Christmas, and since it's a warmer festive period this year, so here I am trending what would be a Fall look for Christmas eve.

Whilst some Fall / Winter trends would be going out the door for 2016, statement sleeves are definitely an IN trend for 2017. I particularly love the theatrical feel of this blouse. Pretty much resembling a tiered Christmas tree.

A slight androgynous touch to the outfit, paired this very feminine top with a pair of wrap culottes - a very Korean kind of styling.

With so much going on with the top, kept the rest of the outfit, classic, simple and with only two statement jewelry to bring out the best of the outfit.

I hope you are continuing to log in your daily entries for both Nordstrom and Target giveaways ongoing now till end Dec and early Jan 2017 respectively for a great chance to win some holiday spending money. Click here now to enter!

Vested Interest :: Long Vest and Pleated Skirt

Hi everyone,

Christmas is less than a week out from today. Playing with ribbons and bows all day with gift wrapping - decided to go a little crazy at the start of this outfit shoot, and threw on my tasselled belt as a necklace accessory. May not be the right thing to do but hey Fashion is all about having fun isn't it?

Again, you would have noticed, I seem to stick to favourite colour palettes for my winter outfits. This year, I particularly gravitated lots to Olive and Burgundy tones.

Old favourites to the rescue when you seem to be in a rush and can't seem to find anything to wear. A wardrobe full of clothes and yet still, always in dilemma.

Bought this Goyard clutch to carry my documents for meetings, but I end up using it more as a day clutch bag rather than using it for my documents... love the fact that it is oversize which makes perfect sense trending it during the day rather than evenings.

Feeling like a cowgirl from a Western movie with my high cut leather boots!

I am finally on holiday now so will have more time to spend blogging. Do stay tune for my Christmas outfit posts and enjoy your christmas shopping!

Two back-to-back giveaways are ongoing at the moment to end the year with a bang. Click here to check them out and send in your daily entries for a chance to win some spending money!!
